Anatomy of a Major Website Redesign Project
A 2016 Nonprofit Technology Conference session about our work with The Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers is the premier outdoor education nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest and their website is the critical link between their members and volunteers, and the outdoor learning that they offer. When they embarked on a major upgrade project, they took a holistic view of what they wanted to accomplish with technology. In this session, Sally, David, Percolator Consulting's Karen Uffelman, and The Mountaineer's Jeff Bowmen describe the life cycle of this major website project:
- Defining the engagement strategy driving The Mountaineers
- The technical discovery process
- The technology choices we made and why
- The importance of design
- The agile process used to manage development
- Managing content migration, testing, and site launch
- Website support and ongoing evolution
