User Training

Non-technical classes that teach content editors and site administrators how to create and customize websites using Plone.

Whether you are an end user, a webmaster, or a manager, you can benefit from Jazkarta's User Training. Get a quick start with a half day Getting Started With Plone session, or dive into the details with our full 2 day class.

What You Will Learn

  • How to author and edit content using Plone's rich text editor. We will walk you through the entire authoring process including how to add images, resize them for fit, and place them on the page. We will also look at all the default content types that come with Plone (News, Events, Pages, Files, Images, Links, Collections), discuss how they are to be used, and how to use the search tool to find the content you are looking for.
  • How to administer a Plone site. We will learn how to create new users and groups, and review and approve submitted content. We will also discuss best practices for information architecture, creating collections, and using smart portlets for the display of dynamic content throughout your site. We will discuss the tools available in the Plone control panel, and also show how to make simple changes in the ZMI, such as adding and removing portlets.
  • How to integrate various popular Plone products into your website to enable group collaboration, multimedia content, drag-n-drop addition of content, multi-lingual content, mailing lists, discussion forums, bibliographies, etc. We will provide a guided tour of these products and show you how your organization can leverage them to add real value to your website.
