Whether you are an integrator, a designer, or a developer, you can benefit from Jazkarta's introduction to Plone theming with Deliverance and xdv.

What You Will Learn

  • How do Deliverance and xdv work?
  • What are the differences between Deliverance and xdv - when should I use one over the other?
  • Deliverance buildout configurations for local development and production deployment.
  • Theming a Plone site using static HTML/CSS and live sites as templates.
  • Multi-design theming.
  • Multi-site theming.
  • Using PyQuery and mashups.

We will look at several live sites that were themed using Deliverance to demonstrate how it is used to solve real business problems. Then each student will select a theme among a selection of static HTML/CSS themes, and we will walk from start to finish through the entire process of theming the Plone site, by creating the rules file, styling different sections of the site to use different templates, and finally deploying it to a production environment.

This will be a dynamic class with lots of time for questions and answers. Come and learn the easiest way to theme your Plone sites!
