CMS Comparison report freely available
Idealware has published a comprehensive report comparing four open source content management systems (CMS) popular with nonprofits: Plone, Drupal, Joomla! and Wordpress.
Plone, WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal are all free and open source systems that can help nonprofits build and manage websites. Idealware - also a nonprofit - provides candid Consumer-Reports-style reviews and articles about software of interest to nonprofits.
They have just published a free, 60-page report, Comparing Open Source Content Management Systems: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and Plone, that provides both an introduction to these systems and a very detailed comparison. Jazkarta was one of the report's sponsors.
Kudos to Laura Quinn and Michelle Murrain from Idealware for such a thorough and fair comparison!

Plone scored very well in the report, and was a standout in the areas of content administration, user roles and workflow, extending and integrating, and scalability and security. The only areas it lagged behind the PHP-based CMSes were hosting and installation, ease of setting up a simple site and learning curve for a more complex site.

Listen to an interview between Holly Ross (director of NTEN) and Laura Quinn, the founder of Idealware talk about Laura's upcoming session Comparing Open Source CMSs: Joomla, Drupal, and Plone at NTEN's Non-profit Technology Conference.
Full disclosure: Jazkarta was the lead sponsor for Plone on this report.
